My approach is warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental, while being grounded in evidence-based practices. My goal is to help you develop greater self-understanding, navigate challenges more effectively, and build healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.
Approach & Methodology
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and tailored to the person sitting in front of me. I believe there is no single “right” way to do therapy, and the process should be shaped around your experiences, needs, and pace. • A Space to Feel Heard: I focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can speak openly, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and feel comfortable showing up as your authentic self. • Making Sense of Patterns: Using CBT and other evidence-based approaches, we explore the connection between your thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and experiences. Understanding these patterns can help you develop healthier and more flexible ways of responding. • Building Emotional Awareness: I incorporate DBT and mindfulness-based techniques to help you understand and regulate difficult emotions, manage overwhelming moments, and develop a more grounded relationship with yourself. • Understanding the Bigger Picture: My trauma-informed approach means looking beyond the immediate concern and considering how your past experiences, relationships, environment, and coping patterns may be influencing your present. • Growing Together: I see therapy as a collaborative process rather than one where the therapist simply gives advice. We work together to find what is meaningful and practical for you, while I continue to learn and reflect on my own practice along the way.
